Dr. Thapa Chhetri is a disaster management expert, civil engineer, and academic serving as Director of Engineering at Kantipur City College, Visiting Associate Professor at Ehime University (Japan), Academic Head at the National Armed Police Force Academy, and faculty at the University of the Fraser Valley (Canada). He has led key initiatives like Ex-HATEMALO VI, DREE with USARPAC, UNITY OF EFFORT-VI, and MPAT TEMPEST EXPRESS 40 (organized by the Nepali Army and US Indo-Pacific Command). His work spans disaster education, risk reduction, multi-hazard assessment, and climate adaptation, including curriculum development for schools and training standards for all three tiers of government (federal, provincial, and local). With a Ph.D. from Ehime University, he collaborates with UNDP, USAID, Nepali Army, and Armed Police Force, advancing disaster resilience in Nepal and globally.
